Seattle Cancer Care Alliance

Overview

Seattle Cancer Care AllianceIn 1998, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center joined UW Medicine and Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center to form the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), one of the leading adult and pediatric cancer centers in the United States. Through the SCCA, people with cancer have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools.

Mission

The primary mission of the SCCA is to provide premier, patient-focused cancer care and rapid access to the best cancer treatments while supporting the conduct of clinical research and education, enhancing access to improved cancer interventions and advancing the standard of cancer care nationwide.

Translating Research Accomplishments into Leading-Edge Therapies

Working together through the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Hutchinson Center, UW Medicine and Children's researchers seek to speed the transfer of new diagnostic and treatment techniques from the research setting to patient care. This highly integrated approach supports the flow of scientific information among researchers, clinicians and patients, accelerating the development of new cancer treatments.

Locations

The SCCA has three clinical-practice sites. Outpatient services are provided at its flagship 150,000 square-foot clinic, which is located on the Hutchinson Center's campus near Lake Union in Seattle. Pediatric-inpatient care is provided at Children's and adult-inpatient care is provided at UW Medical Center.
