Long-Term Follow-Up

Support For Physicians
The center should have a system in place to communicate with primary physicians, both by telephone and in writing, to keep them informed of the patient's medical status.

At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the Long-Term Follow-Up office serves as a resource for the patient and the patient's referring physician after treatment when the patient leaves the center and returns home.

Consultation
After the transplant, it is helpful for the patient and the physician to be able to contact the center with questions about the management of care. Is this consultation service available?

During and after transplant, specialists are available for consultation when the patient experiences a problem. Physicians, psychologists, pharmacologists, nurses, social workers, registered dietitians and financial representatives are available.
