Vector Production and Tracking Core

The stable genetic modification of hematopoietic cells has many potential applications that range from overexpressing or downregulating genes for gene function studies to potential therapeutic applications such as hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) and T cell gene therapy. There are many different vector systems available for genetic modification. The Core will also incorporate and develop improved vectors and vector production methods, especially for lentiviral vectors, to further enhance the existing Core services. Thus this Core will provide investigators with three main functions:

  1. assist investigators with the construction and production of retroviral vectors (including onco, lenti and foamy viral vectors)

  2. assist investigators with the tracking of gene-modified cells

  3. develop improved vector production / concentration methods and improved vector systems
